What to do when your hair arrives

Hair travels in protective packaging, so it may look compressed or less defined on arrival. This is normal. In most cases, wash + conditioner + air-dry restores the natural look.

Unpack gently

Do not pull or aggressively brush dry hair right after unpacking.

First wash

Use a mild shampoo + conditioner. Wash gently from top to bottom. Do not rub or twist.

Towel dry correctly

Pat the hair with a towel (do not twist).

Air-dry naturally

Let it dry naturally on a hanger/stand. Avoid hot blow-drying for the first wash.

Style after it's fully dry

Lightly detangle and style as needed.

Please complete the first wash + air-dry before judging texture, curl pattern, or volume.

Curly hair note

  • Heat can relax the curl pattern. Air-dry or use low heat for maximum definition.
  • Curly hair often looks best after the first wash and proper drying.
  • If you brush dry curls aggressively, the curl pattern may look less defined.

Please don't

  • Do not use a straightener or hot blow-drying on day one
  • Do not dye/bleach hair before the first wash
  • Do not aggressively brush dry curls
  • Do not judge the hair without completing the steps above
